Specialist Vehicle Recovery

Accident-damaged, non-driveable, low, long or valuable vehicles need moving with the right equipment and the right care. We arrange specialist recovery for trade customers — into the bodyshop, between sites, or to wherever the repair happens.

What specialist recovery covers

  • Accident-damaged and non-driveable vehicles — recovery from a customer's address, a compound or a roadside location into the bodyshop.
  • Prestige, performance and classic vehicles — low ground clearance, wide bodies, soft tyres and high values call for the right equipment and handling.
  • Vehicles that must not be driven — structural damage, ADAS or braking faults, or a manufacturer instruction not to drive following an incident.
  • Site-to-site moves — between a garage and a bodyshop, to a paint or specialist facility, or to a customer on completion.
  • Non-standard vehicles — long-wheelbase, commercial and modified vehicles where a standard flatbed is not appropriate.

How to arrange a recovery

  1. Tell us about the vehicle. Make, model and registration; whether it rolls, steers and brakes; ground clearance and any modifications; and whether it is a high-value or classic vehicle.
  2. Tell us where it is and where it is going. Collection address and access (compound, private drive, roadside, car park with height limits), delivery address and any timing constraints.
  3. We confirm what we can arrange. The equipment, the price and the timing for that specific move. Nothing is booked until you approve it.
  4. The vehicle is collected and delivered. You are kept informed of collection and arrival.

Recovery is arranged per job and depends on location, vehicle and access, so we do not publish fixed response times. When we confirm a job we give you the timing for that move.

Send us the vehicle details, its location and its condition. We'll confirm what we can arrange and when.

Recovery and the rest of the repair

A vehicle recovered into the bodyshop is often the start of a parts search — a damaged panel, a lamp on back order, a bracket that has gone NLA. Raise the parts in the same enquiry and we start identifying them from the registration while the vehicle is on its way. See genuine body panels and parts sourcing. If the customer needs transport in the meantime, see courtesy and hire vehicles.

Handling prestige and classic vehicles

Moving a low or valuable vehicle badly can cost more than the repair it is being moved for. When you tell us the vehicle is prestige, performance or classic we arrange recovery on that basis — appropriate loading angles, tie-down points and covered transport where it is warranted. Tell us anything unusual about the car: aftermarket body kits, lowered suspension, non-standard wheels, or a soft-top that must stay up.

Trade only

We arrange recovery for garages, bodyshops, specialists and fleet operators. We are not a roadside breakdown service and do not offer recovery directly to the public; a private owner's repairer can arrange it through us. For the full range of services around a repair, see bodyshop support, or contact us.

Preparing a vehicle for collection

A little preparation makes a recovery quicker and safer, particularly for damaged or valuable vehicles.

  • Tell us honestly whether the vehicle rolls, steers and brakes, and whether the steering lock is engaged or the transmission is stuck in park.
  • Photograph the vehicle before collection, including existing damage, so that its condition on arrival can be compared.
  • Make sure the keys are available at the collection point, or tell us if they are not.
  • Describe access: gates, height limits, narrow drives, compound opening hours and who to ask for.
  • Remove or secure loose items and, for damaged vehicles, note any leaking fluids or deployed airbags.

Recovery for the rest of the job

Recovery is rarely the only thing a damaged vehicle needs from us. Raise the parts, repair information and — if the customer needs transport — a courtesy vehicle in the same enquiry, and one contact will handle all of it while the vehicle is on its way to you.

Vehicle Recovery: frequently asked questions

Do you offer roadside breakdown recovery to the public?

No. We arrange specialist recovery for trade customers — garages, bodyshops, specialists and fleets. A private owner's repairer can arrange it through us.

Can you move low or valuable vehicles?

Yes. Tell us the vehicle is prestige, performance or classic and we arrange the move with appropriate equipment and handling.

What is the procedure for booking a recovery?

Send the vehicle details, its condition, where it is and where it is going. We confirm the equipment, price and timing for that move, and nothing is booked until you approve it.

Do you publish response times?

No — timing depends on location, vehicle and access. We give you the timing for the specific move when we confirm the job.
