Tips for a faster search
- Send the VIN as a photo of the plate rather than typing it — transposed characters are the most common cause of a search on the wrong vehicle.
- Photograph the part in place and, if it is off the vehicle, any label, stamped number or casting mark.
- Include the estimate line for accident repairs — we confirm or correct the number against the VIN.
- Tell us what has already been tried (dealer back order, NLA) so we go straight to the routes that are left. See obsolete and discontinued parts and back-ordered parts.
- Say whether a used genuine part would be acceptable for discontinued lines — it widens the search.
