Genuine Body Panels and Bumpers for Bodyshops

Genuine panels, bumpers, lamps and glazing identified from the registration or VIN and sourced when the UK network cannot supply. Built for the way a bodyshop actually works: from the estimate, against the clock.

Body parts we source

  • Panels — wings, doors, bonnets, tailgates and boot lids, sills, quarter panels, roof panels and structural sections.
  • Bumpers and exterior components — bumper covers and reinforcements, grilles, spoilers, mouldings, brackets and the sensor and camera carriers behind them.
  • Lighting — headlamps, rear lamps, fog and daytime-running lamps, including variant-specific units (LED, adaptive, matrix).
  • Glazing — windscreens, side and rear glass, including heated, acoustic and sensor-ready variants.
  • Mirrors, badges and trim — the small items that hold up a final inspection.

Every item is genuine: manufacturer part number, manufacturer packaging. Where a genuine panel is unobtainable and an alternative exists, we describe the alternative as exactly what it is and let you and the insurer decide. See genuine OEM parts for how we categorise parts.

Finding car body parts by registration

A registration is usually enough for us to identify body parts, because it resolves to the VIN and the VIN resolves to the build specification: model year, body style, trim level, paint code and the option packs that change which bumper, grille or lamp the car was built with. What the registration cannot always tell us is what has been changed since the car left the factory — so a photograph of the damaged area and, for lamps and bumpers, of the part number label on the old part removes any doubt. Our guide on finding car parts by VIN or registration explains what each identifier reveals.

Send the estimate and the registration. We'll confirm the genuine part numbers line by line and flag anything on back order before it becomes a problem.

Panels on back order or NLA

Body panels are among the most common back-order and NLA items in the UK, particularly for models more than eight to ten years old and for low-volume variants. A panel that the UK network cannot supply is frequently still stocked in another market under the same genuine number, or available through a manufacturer heritage programme for older vehicles. We search those routes and quote from the real source with a real lead time. See back-ordered parts and obsolete and discontinued parts.

Working from the estimate

  1. Send the estimate (Audatex or your own) with the registration or VIN.
  2. We confirm the genuine part number for each line against the VIN, including option-dependent variants and supersessions.
  3. We flag any line with a known supply problem and begin searching for it immediately.
  4. You receive availability, price and lead time per line.
  5. On approval we order and arrange delivery to the bodyshop.

Structural panels and repair methods

Replacing a structural panel — a quarter panel, sill, rail or roof section — is only half the job; the other half is doing it the way the manufacturer specifies, with the right sectioning points, joining methods and materials. We source manufacturer repair methods for the same vehicles we source panels for, so a bodyshop can request both in one enquiry. See manufacturer repair methods.

Support while the car waits

When a panel is on a genuine lead time, the car still occupies a bay and the customer still needs transport. Our bodyshop support services cover courtesy and hire vehicles and specialist vehicle recovery for exactly that situation.

Panels, primer and paint codes

Genuine body panels are supplied in e-coat or primer, not in the vehicle's colour, so the bodyshop paints them. That means the paint code is not part of the parts identification — but the panel's variant is. The same wing may exist with and without a side-repeater aperture, a washer-jet hole or a sensor mount, and the same door may differ by trim level in its moulding fixings. We identify the exact variant against the VIN and confirm it with you, particularly where the estimate line is a generic one.

Glazing and lamps: the variants that matter

Windscreens and lamps are where a wrong variant is most expensive, because a near-match fits and then fails on function.

  • Windscreens — with or without a camera bracket, rain and light sensor, heating, acoustic laminate, head-up display area and tint band. Each combination is a different part number and a camera-equipped screen will need calibration afterwards; see ADAS and wheel alignment.
  • Headlamps — halogen, xenon, LED, adaptive and matrix versions of the same lamp look alike from outside and are not interchangeable. The VIN and a photograph of the lamp's label settle it.
  • Rear lamps and fog lamps — pre- and post-facelift and trim-level variants are common.
  • Bumper covers — apertures for parking sensors, radar units, headlamp washers and towing eyes all change the number.

What arrives and how

Panels, bumpers and glazing are bulky and easily damaged in transit, so delivery is arranged per item according to where it is coming from. We confirm the delivery method and lead time with the quotation, and we ask that bulky items are checked for transit damage on receipt so that anything wrong can be dealt with straight away.

Body Panels: frequently asked questions

Can you find car body parts from the registration number?

Usually, yes. The registration resolves to the VIN and the build specification, which tells us which variant of a bumper, grille or lamp the car was built with. A photograph of the damage and of any part-number label removes doubt about changes made since the car was built.

Are the panels you source genuine?

Yes — manufacturer part number, manufacturer packaging. If a genuine panel is unobtainable and an alternative exists, we describe it as exactly what it is and leave the decision to you and the insurer.

Do you work from Audatex estimates?

Yes. Send the estimate with the registration or VIN and we confirm the genuine part numbers line by line, flagging any supply problems before they hold up the repair.

Can you also supply the manufacturer repair method for a structural panel?

Yes. We source manufacturer repair methods for the same vehicles, so you can request the panel and the repair information in one enquiry.

Can't find the part? Let us find it.

Send us the registration, VIN or part number and we'll search our sourcing network.
